The Burj Khalifa, located in Dubai, UAE, is the world’s tallest building. ✰ It stands at 2,716.5 feet (828 meters) tall, twice the height of the Empire State Building
✰ The design is inspired by the Hymenocallis, also known as the Spider Lily, a regional desert flower
✰ People at the top see the sun set several minutes after people on the ground (during Ramadan, the Muslim population that lives above the 80th floor has to wait a few extra minutes to end their fast at sunset)
✰ Its upper half sometimes goes above the clouds, meaning it can be unaffected by rain pouring below
✰ The temperature at the top is 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit colder than at the ground level
If you want to visit the Burj Khalifa, it’s important to get tickets in advance. Also, if you plan to take public transport, make sure to give yourself plenty of time to walk from the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station stop to the entrance to the Burj Khalifa… it takes 20 minutes at least because the mall is massive!
